It’s All About the Ladies

Mark it on your calendar because there is now such a day. “Galentines Day”, as it’s called, introduced by Leslie Knope from television’s Park and Recreation came up with the idea for a holiday dedicated to women celebrating women…..mothers, daughters, girlfriends, and sisters. A day to be thankful for what they bring to your life and to just take time to enjoy each other. Galentines Day will be on Saturday, February 13th this year and you don’t want to miss out.

Make it special. Send out invitations to surprise all your gal pals to join you for happy hour, or at your favorite coffee house or tea room. If you don’t feel like going out, stay in, for a midday brunch with mimosas or have some evening hors d’oeuvres with a fruit sangria.

Decorate for the special occasion. Decorate in pinks, fuchsias, and lilacs with pansies, hydrangeas and fresh roses. Use antique or vintage glass vases or rose bowls to decorate with fresh flowers. Break out the antique china, crystal, and even the silver plate for dinnerware. You can use antique style tealight lanterns or candelabras for ambiance, and birds, and nests as accents. For a white party use white linens, and gardenias with mercury glass accents. Most importantly have fun! Which BFF’s are you having over?
