Find our entire mantle luster collection
Video Translation: Hi this is Jennifer here with City Farmhouse Antiques and I am here with this week's Find of the Week. As I promised, I have this other set of mantle lusters and they are just beautiful. They are affixed to these gold gilded bronze bases. You can see the detail on these bases and they have been electrified and work. They are all hand painted. You can see the rosettes at the base that have been painted. There is gold gild that lines the piece and then the roses and the floral design you can see as you go up the piece. There is plenty of gold gild on this. This one here you can see the other side so I don't have to turn them around. These are a cobalt blue set. This color is a bit more desirable than some of the others. I really like the shape of the prisms on this set. They are like a tear drop shape. You have the octagon facet up here and then the little tear drop prism that hangs. As I said, they are electrified. They do work and turn on. They would be cute at a night stand table or on a little mantle. They are 12 inches tall so this is a smaller set which is great for a bedroom or night stand to use as a night light or reading light. The base is a 6" by 6" square and then the top is about 5" in diameter so that gives you a good idea of the size of these. There you can see the light bulbs fit down inside there. They are super cute. As I have mentioned in some of my other blog posts these antique mantle lusters were used on tables, on mantles, and they were meant to hold candles back in the day and had Victorian designs and of course the more elaborately hand painted and embellished they were typically they belonged to the more wealthy. This is a cute little set.
